Black Swan: Rodarte does Degas

As a former dancer, Style Cramp understands just how nitpicking and perceived imperfection can cloud a performer's life.

Black Swan stars Natalie Portman as a talented but troubled prima ballerina cast in Swan Lake's title role, who finds the character of Odile crawling all over her Odette-like qualities.


Darren Aronofsky's horror-tinged ballet thriller showcases 40 theatrical costumes created by Rodarte, design-duo sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy.


No doubt it's Portman's doing that they were involved, she's famous for being a huge Rodarte fan. Most of the costumes (sketches pictured) appear onstage in performances of Swan Lake.
